Hospital Bag

My mail, and now this blog, has taken a dark turn.  I received this package today, and I'm thinking this is the beginning of the TMI posts that will eventually flood this blog.

The above pic includes Tucks hemorrhoid pads and super heavy absorbent incontinence pads--yes my mail was awesome today.  I'm still 5 1/2 weeks away from delivering Lil Miss, but I am trying to shop for (and add to) my hospital list, so that this bag is good and ready well before mid-October.

Thanks to all my mom friends and these sites: E Tells Tales, Little Baby Garvin, and Dear Baby for helping me start my list.

Ok moms, what did I leave off and what on this list is not needed?

  1. I always took my bible, journal, and a pen for any notes, prayers, scriptures, or precious hospital memories I wanted to jot down. ;D

  2. Why is alcohol not on your list? KIDDING! (Kind of, and I don't even drink). Looks like a great list to me!!!

  3. I made a special CD of songs that I knew would keep me cheery and happy and not annoy me so that I wouldn't have to rely on the radio or worse yet the hospital TV. Of course now I'd just take my phone or ipod and some sort of small speaker thing. Hard to believe, but we didn't actually have ipods 11 years ago. That's whay the old school CD. Music is so important. I think "A Whole New World" from Aladdin was playing when Sam was being born. Made a nice memory. I think I even mentioned it in his baby book. That's where the journal and pen come in handy. Sandra's right. You won't need the Boppy. You probably won't need half that stuff, but you may want some really comfy PJ's. You don't want to have to spend the night in the hospital gown. Oh and might I suggest rather than hard candies you can suck down your windpipe in the event of a contraction, suckers with a stick. That will keep your mouth moist and tasty as you breathe but safer.

I'm so excited for you guys. Don't forget the phone/camera chargers! I know Mason will have pics us almost instantly. Can't wait!
